Hydrogen Hybrids

It is possible that you have heard about people who run their cars on water by turning them into hydrogen hybrids. Now, before you think that I am nuts and go to another web site, I want to tell you that you can actually do this. You can also do it for less than $100.00 in most cases, and it really works! How do I know? I did it myself.

You have undoubtedly heard of hydrogen fuel cell technology, right? Well, it will be a long time before the infrastructure is in place to support the technology at a reasonable price. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are even more ridiculously priced than electric cars like the Chevrolet Volt. In fact, the BMW 7 Series hybrid, one of the first, is not going to be out until the 2011 model year and is going to carry a $103,000.00 price tag. I don’t know about you, but that’s way out of my league! I have a 2004 Ford F150 that I turned into a hydrogen hybrid that runs on both gasoline and water. Let me be clear. I don’t actually “burn” the water. I extract the hydrogen gas and the oxygen (HHO gas) from the water and take it in through my air intake.

So How Does Hydrogen Hybrid Technology Work?

Simply put, whenever you place two pieces of metal in water, and apply electricity, the water separates into its basic molecules, hydrogen and oxygen. When you apply electricity (from your car battery), the molecules separate and form a gas (called HHO gas) which is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. This HHO gas is then taken into your engine and mixed along with the air from the air filter. As the gasoline is ignited in your engine, the HHO gas is also ignited, making it much more powerful than gasoline alone. This is much better than plain hydrogen because you are also making extra oxygen which causes the gasoline to burn more efficiently resulting in better gas mileage and much cleaner emissions. Are you starting to see where it makes sense to convert your vehicle into a hydrogen hybrid?

Is This Complicated?

Now when I say “converted” you might think that there is a lot involved in converting your vehicle into a hydrogen hybrid and you have to be a master mechanic or go to one in order to improve your gas mileage by having someone else install the conversion. Wrong. I am about the biggest fumble fingers you ever saw and I was able to do my hydrogen hybrid conversion in an afternoon with nothing more than some basic tools.

It’s not that hard to improve your gas mileage using this method. When you think it, it makes common sense. The hydrogen burns hotter than gasoline, therefore you get more power from your engine while using less fuel. The increased oxygen in the engine makes the gasoline that you are using also burn more efficiently so you get better gas mileage.

The Results

The advantage to you is anywhere from 40% to 130% better gas mileage. My F150 was getting about 13.2 mpg before the conversion. Now I get 24.8 mpg overall. That’s 87.88% better gas mileage than I was getting before. And it’s safe for your engine too. The little fuel that you do use burns cleaner. Therefore, your engine should actually last longer because you don’t have as much carbon sludge building up in your engine. It won’t void your warranty either because you are not modifying anything.

Where Can I Learn How To Do A Hydrogen Hybrid Conversion?

Now, there are sites that sell these hydrogen hybrid conversion kits for anywhere between $700.00 and $1200.00. Even though the kits will also increase your gas mileage, I wouldn’t even give these any consideration because of the price. Remember, I am trying to show you how to improve your gas mileage and save money at the same time. I bought the plans for my hydrogen hybrid conversion online. Following the instructions in the plans, I did my conversion for under $100.00 using parts that I picked up at my local hardware store. I know of two reputable sites that you can get plans for your hydrogen hybrid conversion. They are. Hybrid Water Power and Run Your Auto With Water. I have put links to both these sites below. I got mine from Run Your Auto With Water because I think that it’s a little better value.

If you are truly interested in improving your gas mileage and doing it in a safe and environmentally friendly way, a hydrogen hybrid conversion is the way to go.
